The SMS Technology is developed to melt powder materials.

SMS Systems can use any kind of wavelength between 300nm (ultraviolet) and 3000nm (mid infrared). So, every material which absorbs energy in that range can be molten. For now we are focusing on a peak wavelength of 1000nm and Sintermask Systems are optimized for that IR-light.
